VISIT THE OTHER PLACE
June 24, 2018
We're just a hop, skip and a jump away from the Mendocino Coast. And there's a lot to do on the way! Try a few of these local favorites:
Highway 128-Winery Way
Goldeneye, Domain Anderson, Scharffenberger, Navarro, Rogederer Estate, Handley are just a few wineries you can hit up on your way to the coast.
Navarro River State Beach
Picnic, swim and watch waves or sea lions as the mighty Navarro River meets the sea. Dog-friendly beach is a great place to build a fire (follow the regulations) and watch the sun go down.
Take a trip on the world-famous Skunk Train into the forest. A truly magical experience.
Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens
View these beautiful gardens with exotic plants and over 150 species of birds.
This unique beach has as much smoothe, tumbled shard glass as it does sand. Truly a treat for the eyes when it's glimmering in the summer sun.
Jug Handle Ecological Staircase
This naturally crafted staircase winds along the coastline, forming a 2.5 mile trail that is open to the public and ends at an exclusive beach
Kayak Mendocino County
Get out on the water and explore the sea caves that line the Mendocino coastline.
Hiking at Russian Gulch State Park
A beautiful state park with a rugged, magnificent coastline and 7.5 miles of coastal trail that leads to
a 36-foot high waterfall.
